You Move Me Atlanta Goes On a Road Trip…

Shaking hands

Last week, You Move Me Atlanta owner Thomas DeLadurantey embarked on a special journey, volunteering his time and services for a very important cause.

Just outside Atlanta Georgia lies a little town called Brookhaven. For over a month, the residents of this community had been collecting essential items for victims of the recent floods that ripped through parts of southern Louisiana. In an initiative started by Brookhaven city council, community members donated items that included everything from food, clothing, cleaning supplies, to furniture, toiletries, and even car seats.

There are no words for the amount of generosity that was shown by this community.

People had come out to donate en masse. Thomas was so touched when he heard about the outpouring of donations, that he was immediately inspired to help.

He knew that the donations would need to make their way to Louisiana, and what better way than in his moving truck?

Volunteers packed all the essential items, and on Friday September 23, 2016, Thomas and the You Move Me Atlanta team, drove their 1,800 cu ft truck with all the donations toWalker Louisiana, a city just east of Baton Rouge – roughly an 8-hour drive away from Brookhaven.

When asked about his trip, Thomas said, “What an opportunity this was, to be able to help in such a special way like this.”
